The Bakery and Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery Present A percussion showcase featuring
: Composer/percussionist Klimchak builds elaborate structures of interlocking melody & rhythm, then obliterates those structures with bursts of noise, random drones, and slabs of spontaneous improvised sound. Expect to see some combination of home built instruments, computerized sound design and a mess of drums, flutes and maybe a theremin.
: Columbus, GA based percussion Quartet that interprets classic composition by the likes of Steve Reich and Jacob ter Veldhuis as well as contemporary composers. Their performance is seamless, playful, and energetic.
Cory Fica: Fica recently received his masters in percussion from UT Austin and has experience performing in numerous ensembles most recently the UT Wind Ensemble, UT Symphony Orchestra, UT Percussion Ensemble, and the UT Steel Pan Ensemble. He is both a performer and an educator who will be performing this event solo.
Carey: Solo project of Dan Bailey (Visitors, Faun and a Pan Flute). This evening interpretations will consist of solo Bonang and promises to be meditative.
