RESURGENS FEST is a three day comedy festival featuring Atlanta’s best improv and stand-up comics. Conceived by local comic and show producer, Joe Pettis, the goal of the fest is to bring Atlanta’s thriving comedy scenes together for one weekend to strengthen our bond and provide an outlet for comics to showcase their talent.

All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence, whose mission is to create a society in which domestic violence no longer exists. They strive to meet the immediate and long-term needs of the diverse community of battered women and their children with programs that promote safety, compassion, connection, advocacy, and prevention.

8:00 — Fresh Baked

Like the city of Akron rallied behind teenage LeBron James, Atlanta needs to know its young crop of growing comedians. While stand-up takes years to perfect, these little prodigies are making it look easy. Fresh Baked sheds a spotlight on Atlanta’s newest generations of stand-up comics. Each comic is just two years or less into the game but already turning heads. Welcome your inner hipster and see Atlanta’s hottest comics “before they were mainstream.”

8:00 — Imported Goods

One of the things that makes Atlanta a “destination city” for comedy is its ability to lure comics from other parts of the country. Over the last few years, comics from all over have moved to Atlanta to further their comedy careers. While we may not have industry like LA and NYC, what we do have is an abundance of quality shows and opportunities to grow. Imported Goods showcases comics who have made the move to the A!

The key to becoming a great comic is to get up as much as possible. Open-mic Eagles celebrates local comics who are consistently seen at open-mics working on new material. These are the true workhorses of the Atlanta Comedy scene.

8:30 — As Seen on TV

Whether they admit it or not, every comic dreams of one day being on TV. While in the past, this often meant moving to LA to be seen by bookers and producers, a small pocket of local comics have broken the system and made it on TV without ever leaving Atlanta. As Seen on TV showcases Atlanta comics who have made it to the to small screen.

10:30 — Player’s Ball

The lifeblood of the Atlanta comedy scene runs through it’s indie show producer’s veins. These comics have vision and drive and are always sleep-deprived hosting the shit out of Atlanta’s top comedy shows — and now they’re all on stage together for Player’s Ball. Featuring all the major players in the Atlanta comedy game!

8:00 — Action Show

Action Show is a full blown power house of action themed improv! Starring Josh Warren and Syl Turner with Elliot Goff and Erica Anthony on tech, it will be the the most action packed 20-30 minutes of your life!

Their show explores comedic environments through bold character work and honest acting. Dedicated to uncovering the absurd in everyday life — the Bilgrones Effect aims to bring truth, ridiculousness, and humor to each scene in an organic long form set.
