On Friday, April 21 from 12-2pm Georgia Detention Watch will be hosting a «Concert for the Incarcerated» in front of the Atlanta City Detention Center (ACDC) in downtown Atlanta. The event is a collaboration between GDW and local musicians, poets, and artists as well as like-minded groups. GDW, along with numerous human rights organizations throughout the city and state will come together at the «Concert for the Incarcerated» to call for the permanant closure of the ACDC facility and the end to all detention agreements between the City of Atlanta and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The event plans to highlight the brutality of the US system of mass incarceration with statements from affected communities while affirming the humanity of all by sharing music and art with those locked up.
